Finance & Legal Intern

LMI is seeking a high-performing Finance & Legal Intern to support our Finance and Legal division. This role is designed for a motivated undergraduate student looking to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of finance, compliance, and business operations within a mission-driven consulting environment. You will work alongside cross-functional teams to support core financial processes, contract operations, and internal governance initiatives that enable delivery across LMI.

This is an opportunity to build foundational experience in financial analysis, legal operations, and enterprise decision support while developing exposure to how finance and legal functions scale in a technology-enabled organization.

Responsibilities

Support financial analysis, reporting, and data validation across programs and internal initiatives

Assist with contract lifecycle management, including documentation review and organization

Partner with Finance and Legal team members to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency

Conduct research on financial regulations, compliance requirements, and industry trends impacting government contracting

Help prepare internal reports, dashboards, and briefings for leadership stakeholders

Contribute to process improvement efforts, including identifying opportunities to leverage automation or AI-enabled tools

Collaborate across teams to ensure alignment between financial planning, legal compliance, and business execution

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Expected graduation 20282029)

Strong academic performance with a demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications Interest in financial operations, legal/compliance functions, or government contracting

Exposure to data analysis, Excel, or financial modeling concepts

Demonstrated leadership experience through athletics, student organizations, or community involvement

Strong time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Curiosity around how technology, data, and AI are transforming finance and legal operations
