Practice Setting and Clinical Scope

This role is situated within the inpatient nursery of a well-respected critical access hospital. As a Pediatric Hospitalist, you will manage a range of duties including non-invasive ventilation management, intubation, and newborn resuscitation. You will oversee newborn care for infants over 2000 grams and provide essential support during any post-delivery resuscitation scenarios. The hospital employs the Meditech EMR system to streamline documentation and patient management.

Schedule and Assignment Details

The assignment offers a straightforward and predictable schedule, requiring your expertise from Friday at 7 PM through Monday at 7 AM, one weekend per month. Each shift consists of 24-hour coverage periods, structured to ensure continuous and comprehensive patient care. The average daily patient load includes minimal admissions and a manageable inpatient census, allowing you to focus on quality care delivery.

Support and Work Environment

You will be supported by a cohesive and dedicated healthcare team, including access to an adult medicine hospitalist for collaborative patient management. The hospital prioritizes a supportive work environment, ensuring that you have the necessary resources and assistance to provide exceptional care. Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Pediatrics or Family Practice is required.
  • NRP certification is mandatory.
  • An active Massachusetts medical license is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in newborn care and resuscitation procedures is essential.
