The Visual Merchandising Manager is responsible for ensuring the best possible retail experience by executing and maintaining store visual merchandising, displays and fixture layouts. This role plays a key part in protecting brand standards, ensuring consistency and enhancing customer engagement through well-planned merchandising strategies. As a point of contact in the store, you’ll play a key role in engaging customers, sharing your passion for our products, and creating moments of joy. Your responsibilities will include driving sales, maintaining brand standards, and upholding company policies to ensure a seamless, fun, and vibrant shopping environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute and maintain all store visual merchandising, display presentations, and fixture layouts according to directives from the Manager of Visual Merchandising Design.
- Ensure proper display quantities and stock levels, promptly reporting any inventory discrepancies.
- Uphold visual presentation standards throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring marketing themes are consistently reflected across all displays.
- Conduct regular perimeter checks, refresh merchandising materials, and handle tools and equipment carefully to avoid fixture damage.
- Collaborate on window displays, in-store setups, and store design installations, working closely with external vendors when required.
Brand & Store Standards:
- Protect and monitor brand standards, ensuring consistency across signage, collateral, and store staff presentation.
- Establish and maintain best-in-class merchandising practices, fostering an engaging and dynamic store environment.
- Oversee the sales floor, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and optimal product presentation.
- Support store repairs and improvements related to merchandising, partnering with the appropriate teams when necessary.
- Greet guests warmly, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere that reflects Dylan’s Candy Bar experience.
- Uphold brand-aligned standards and best practices, ensuring adherence to Mystery Shopper Survey priorities.
Store Operations & Traffic Management:
- Follow all merchandising guidelines and utilize digital platforms like Airtable, Dropbox, and Candy Dish to provide feedback, upload documentation, and ensure task completion.
- Manage merchandising project timelines, ensuring timely, complete, and accurate execution of all merchandising plans.
- Ensure adherence to the Mystery Shopper Survey priorities, reinforcing brand-aligned merchandising standards and best practices.
- Manage store flow and wait times, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience for all guests.
- Stay up to date with all café policies and procedures, maintaining operational excellence.
- Keep all store areas clean, organized, and inviting, completing assigned tasks thoroughly and efficiently.
- Restock and recover the sales floor to support visual merchandising standards and create an engaging shopping environment.
- Accurately handle cash register transactions, ensuring correct procedures for sales, returns, and exchanges.
- Adhere to all local, city, and state health food standards, ensuring a safe and clean environment for customers and staff.
- Exceed individual KPI goals by delivering exceptional customer service and achieving quality sales.
- Engage customers with friendly, energetic communication that aligns with Dylan’s Candy Bar brand standards.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Dylan’s Candy Bar’s heritage, products, and café offerings, sharing insights to enhance customer experience.
- Highlight current and upcoming in-store promotions and events, encouraging customer participation.
- Assess customer needs, provide tailored product recommendations, and guide them through their shopping journey.
Event & Special Project Support:
- Assist with special projects, including in-store and off-site events, PR opportunities, and brand activations.
- Support the execution of store setups and displays, reinforcing the visual direction of the store.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Experience in retail merchandising, store displays, or a related field, with a keen eye for presentation and detail.
- Experience in store opening and closing procedures including cash handling.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to uphold and maintain brand guidelines across all displays and merchandising efforts.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working with merchandising tools, digital platforms and project management software.
- Strong communication skills for seamless coordination with vendors, team members and cross-functional partners.
- Ability to perform physical merchandising tasks, including lifting, arranging and setting up displays (up to 30 lbs) and navigating stairs to access stockrooms.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
- Friendly, outgoing, and confident, with a natural ability to build rapport when engaging with new people.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with Dylan’s Candy Bar products, history and an enthusiasm for all things candy.
