About this Role
Living Carbon seeks a highly organized and collaborative Project Development Manager to join our Commercial team. This role comes during a pivotal moment as the company transitions from early traction to scaling its project development into a robust portfolio of carbon projects. The Project Development Manager will act as the operational nexus of our carbon project pipeline, managing projects holistically while building the foundation necessary to scale up operations. This position involves cross-functional coordination across various teams, such as Forestry, Carbon Science, and Finance, ensuring smooth project execution. Responsibilities include overseeing the project management of our carbon initiatives and liaising with investor-related operations. The ideal candidate doesn’t need to be an expert in forestry or carbon markets but must exhibit a strong operational acumen with a commitment to learning and advancing the mission of the organization.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary project management lead across Living Carbon’s active carbon project portfolio, owning timelines, milestone tracking, and cross-functional coordination.

Build, manage, and continuously improve cross-functional workflows connecting various teams around shared project development goals.

Prepare and maintain structured project reporting for multiple stakeholders including project finance partners and investors.

Identify blockers, surface tradeoffs, and drive decisions, ensuring alignment on priorities.

Develop a deep understanding of the project development lifecycle to represent work confidently to external stakeholders.

Continuously improve internal processes, documentation, and project management infrastructure.

Requirements

4-7 years of experience in project management, product management, or a related role, ideally in a startup or climate-adjacent environment.

Demonstrated track record of building cross-functional workflows and aligning diverse teams.

Experience with preparing reports that synthesize complex operational activities for various stakeholders.

Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Comfortable operating with ambiguity and creating structure.

A collaborative, team-first orientation.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; MBA or graduate degree is a plus but not required.
