This role requires a skilled technician to support the new build production line manufacturing detail parts for assemblies. Employees are encouraged to learn new specific tasks to diversify their skills and support the business. This will lead to further progression through the grading system. Further training can be given to suitable candidates.
You will be responsible for ensuring you achieve and maintain the internal approvals to carry out the above tasks. The employee will ensure you record the progress of your tasks through the works order to completion in accordance with our procedures. Training new and trainee positions to complete the tasks as above in accordance with our procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacture aircraft components from aluminium sheet metal or other similar materials using specifically manufactured tools.
Forming, pressing, routing and by hand to meet the drawing requirements. Routings will be established to support this process.
Manufacture detail assemblies mainly metal components riveting, countersinking, de-burring, bonding and sealing to meet the drawing requirements.
Manufacture small, machined parts to drawing requirements using manual and CNC mills and lathes.
Manufacture fuel pipes, Pitot pipes, brake pipes and other similar pipes using copper, tungum and other materials in our purpose-built pipe facility.
Read and understand technical drawing instructions / build instructions
Attention to detail in the quality process is essential.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
5 GCSEs Grade C/4+ incl Maths / English
Indentured Apprenticeship in a relevant area or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years in a similar manufacturing environment is desirable but is not essential.
