Maintenance Specialist (Levels 1–5)
Position Overview
The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical production equipment. This role works closely with Production and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
Note: Maintenance Specialist levels (1–5) and corresponding compensation are determined by the Lead Maintenance Technician based on experience, certifications, and education.
Key Responsibilities
Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment
Diagnose equipment issues using work orders, schematics, manuals, and operator feedback
Execute corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance programs
Interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, ladder logic, and technical documentation
Maintain and repair systems involving PLCs, electrical circuits, and electromechanical components
Utilize precision measuring instruments and electrical testing equipment
Plan and complete repairs independently, including selecting necessary tools and materials
Support production by minimizing downtime and ensuring equipment reliability
Train and mentor team members as needed
Follow all safety procedures and company standards
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Technical degree or certification in electrical, electronics, or industrial maintenance preferred
Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience (multi-craft preferred)
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Knowledge of PLC systems, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment
Experience with HVAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, and plumbing is a plus
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Valid driver’s license required
Work Environment
Onsite position in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility
Exposure to varying temperatures, including heat, cold, and humidity
Regular attendance is required
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12-hour shifts)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling
Ability to perform repetitive motions as needed
Reporting Structure
Reports directly to the Lead Maintenance Mechanic
Additional Information
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities
No travel required
