Project Manager of Creative Services

Overview
The Project Manager ensures that creative work—ranging from marketing campaigns and digital content to print materials and multimedia assets—is executed efficiently, aligned with brand standards, and designed to support institutional visibility and engagement. The role supports the Director of Brand Management and Creative Services by streamlining processes, enhancing workflow systems, and fostering a brand‑conscious creative philosophy across campus.
Project Coordination and Execution (40%)
Manage daily operations of creative projects, including the development of project scopes, schedules, deliverables, and facilitation of project kick‑offs and consultations with stakeholders.
Coordinate resources and timelines in collaboration with creative staff and external partners.
Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to ensure timely, high‑quality completion.
Maintain accurate project records, including briefs, schedules, and approvals.
Client and Stakeholder Relations (20%)
Manage stakeholder expectations.
Serve as a primary contact for campus clients, ensuring timely, professional, and solutions‑oriented service.
Gather requirements and translate client needs into clear project direction.
Communicate project expectations, timelines, and updates to stakeholders.
Facilitate review and approval processes between clients and creative staff.
Advocate and re‑direct clients toward best practices in design and brand representation, as needed.
Support initiatives set forth by the Director in campus‑wide brand unification, awareness, and affinity efforts.
Workflow, Quality, and Compliance (15%)
Support the implementation of operational practices that improve efficiency and consistency across the department.
Identify issues that may impact workflow or quality and recommend improvements when appropriate.
Assist in monitoring project pipelines to maintain balanced workloads and meet service expectations.
Manage creative operations software and tools with quarterly reviews of project routing to eliminate bottlenecks and potential delays.
Relay the importance of brand compliance in all project work.
Team Collaboration (10%)
Coordinate with designers, writers, photographers, videographers, and vendors to support project execution.
Provide guidance to junior project staff as needed.
Promote a collaborative, positive, professional, and service‑focused work environment.
Communicate departmental priorities and project requirements as directed by the Director.
Support for Departmental Operations (15%)
Assist the Director in initiatives to streamline processes, improve project throughput, and support departmental growth.
Participate in the development and maintenance of project intake, prioritization, and workflow procedures.
Provide regular project status updates, documentation, and reports to support decision‑making and departmental planning.
Contribute to efforts that reinforce brand standards and institutional alignment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, project management, or a related field.
Three years of project management experience, preferably in a creative services, agency, or marketing environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced setting.
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Working knowledge of creative production workflows and brand management principles.
Proficiency with project management software and workflow tools.
Preferred Experience
Five or more years of relevant project management or agency traffic experience.
Experience working within higher education.
Familiarity with graphic design terminology.
Master’s degree in a related field.
PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification.
