Project Manager Assistant

$90,000 to $110,000 depending on experience. Full union benefits, 401K, liberal PTO, etc.
We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager within our mission critical division. Our projects; data centers, hospitals, air traffic control towers, 911 call centers, etc. All projects require redundancy within electrical/mechanical systems to ensure 24/7 power.
Key Responsibilities
Assists with construction projects and Project Managers on large mission critical projects in or around Chicago.
Assists with managing the project’s field staff, subcontractor performance, and vendor compliance.
Complies with contract documents, budgets, safety, statutory, and legal compliance.
Assists with project coordination, scheduling, and construction.
Assists with monitoring project accounting and profitability.
Maintains constructive relationships and supportive communications with clients, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, community officials and immediate supervisor.
Contributes to the success of the company by effectively and efficiently assisting the Project Manager in all phases of the construction project so that it is completed on time (according to adjusted schedules) and within budget.
Qualifications
Must have relevant construction related work experience, preferably on large scale electrical construction projects.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in construction or electrical engineering related discipline; OR
Two years of assisting project managers within construction, preferably electrical.
Mission Critical data center construction experience is preferred.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, experience with project management or construction software is a plus.
