Salary Information
Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.
A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and the Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations
Nature of Work
Assist in planning, coordinating, and supervising the maintenance of the City’s parks and related public grounds.
Oversee daily and seasonal maintenance activities and supervise maintenance crews performing grounds upkeep, landscaping, turf care, irrigation repair, playground inspection, and facility maintenance.
Assist with scheduling and directing maintenance operations.
Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety and maintenance standards.
Coordinate contracted services and special projects.
Perform administrative duties related to work orders, inventory, and equipment.
Support planning for future park improvements.
Report directly to the Parks Division Superintendent.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED.
Four (4) years of experience in parks, grounds, or landscape maintenance.
One (1) year in a supervisory or lead worker role.
Additional education, training, and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
Special Requirements
Work primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Must stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate maintenance equipment.
Potential exposure to chemicals, noise, equipment hazards, and uneven terrain.
Occasional after‑hours or on‑call duty for emergencies or special events.
Must possess a valid driver’s license to drive city vehicles.
