Responsibilities
Promote Mayo Clinic’s core values and support community‑based health care and integrated delivery systems through the sale of Mayo Medical Laboratories (MCL) tests, in alignment with the MCL sales process and the clients they are assigned to work with.
Generate new business revenue and co‑develop with clients their specific account and/or test selling and promotional strategies.
Collaborate with the CSR Director, Regional Director of Sales, Regional Managers and clients to project annual sales growth, market dynamics and economic conditions; co‑develop and implement business plans for territory/accounts.
Effectively sell and compel buying influences to move testing to Mayo and their clients by differentiating from competing interests, coordinate appropriate resources, develop presentations and participate in the bid process for new and upsell opportunities.
Identify specific tests or groups of tests that are differentiated in the market and pursue upsells to targeted clients; negotiate pricing, coordinate contract development and execution and monitor the accurate lock‑in of prices.
Field‑based sales position; occasional overnight stays required.
Bachelor’s degree and three years’ experience in sales (preferably within the represented market segment, physician/client‑facing contact or negotiating contracts within a hospital or laboratory setting).
This position requires working from an office in the employee’s home territory; relocation is not offered for South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming, Montana.
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position requires a 2‑year commitment to the role.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and three years’ experience in sales (preferably within the represented market segment, physician/client‑facing contact or negotiating contracts within a hospital or laboratory setting).
Master’s in business, medical technology, or sciences preferred. Must have excellent human relations, management, and communications skills.
Accountable, adaptable, flexible, creative, dependable, responsible, and customer focused.
Ability to manage several projects or tasks simultaneously and exercise appropriate judgment when prioritizing projects; decision‑making and problem‑solving ability, adherence to Mayo Clinic Laboratories policies and procedures.
Ability to function and work in a diverse environment while selling Mayo Clinic Laboratories Services and providing direction to clients in a concise, sensitive, informative, and professional manner; maintain a positive courteous tone, particularly in adversarial discussions; stay abreast of regulatory, reimbursement, and service requirements.
Sales experience in Hematology/Oncology or Pathology preferred.
License or Certification
Valid driver’s license and good driving record required, with extensive travel capability.
FACHE certification preferred.
Candidate must live within the listed territory; relocation is not offered for this role.
