Summary
Performs all vascular and diagnostic ultrasound procedures, fixed and mobile, according to the policy and procedures of the department. A Level III Sonographer must hold three registries, one in vascular. Currently practicing all three specialties. Assists the radiologist with designated diagnostic examinations and participates in guided needle biopsies, paracentesis, thoracentesis, needle biopsies, needle localization, and operating room procedures. Interacts with medical staff and other outside entities regarding ultrasound matters. Provides general computer skills as needed and may transport non‑narcotic medications as directed. Works positively with all customers to promote patient, employee, and physician satisfaction. Participates in performance improvement initiatives and staff/student orientation training. Required to participate in "on call" rotation as determined per specific department needs.
Responsibilities
Perform vascular and diagnostic ultrasound procedures, fixed and mobile.
Assist the radiologist with diagnostic examinations.
Assist in guided needle biopsies, paracentesis, thoracentesis, needle biopsies, needle localization, and operating room procedures.

Carry out general computer tasks as needed.
Transport non‑narcotic medications as directed.
Promote patient, employee, and physician satisfaction through positive customer interactions.
Participate in performance improvement initiatives and staff/student orientation training.
Participate in "on call" rotation as determined by department needs.
Qualifications
Level III Sonographer with three registries, including one in vascular.
Graduated from an accredited or ARRT approved ultrasound program.
New graduates with three registries accepted.
All major ultrasound certifications (ARDMS) registered in three specialties; one must be vascular.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
