Position Type: Secondary Teaching/ CTE – Multiple Areas
This position is for a Business Education teacher for the 2025‑2026 school year.
Responsibilities
Teach Digital Literacy, Word Processing, and Keyboarding concepts.
Maintain an orderly teaching lab and use provided curriculum maps.
Assess student progress through formal and informal assessments.
Communicate student progress to parents via calls, emails, and conferences.
Collaborate with colleagues in Professional Learning Communities.
Implement proficiency-based grading and project‑based learning within CCA classes.
Build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community.
Follow state and district policies for safety, attendance, and behavior.
Qualifications
Valid
Professional Educator License
or
Associate Secondary Educator License
from Utah State Board of Education for Secondary or CTE with a concentration in Digital Literacy/College Career Awareness or Business & Marketing, or an out‑of‑state license with a business/marketing endorsement.
For new graduates not yet licensed, a conferral letter on official university letterhead listing degree, graduation date, and recommended license area.
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field (business, marketing, accounting, business management) with coursework: 3 credits business, 3 credits digital literacy, 1 credit spreadsheets, 1 credit word processing, 3 credits computer science, all with a grade of C or higher, obtained within the last five years.
Alternatively, six years of documented full‑time occupational experience in a related field (accounting, business, marketing) within ten years prior to application, with resume detailing duties and dates.
Required industry certifications: IC3 GS5 Key Applications, IC3 GS5 Living Online, IC3 GS5 Computing Fundamentals, Microsoft Office Specialist (Word and Excel Associate). The combination of certification and coursework must meet five requirements.
Clear criminal background check approved by Utah State Board of Education.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Proficiency in classroom technology and software.
Strong communication (oral and written) with students, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to maintain a safe lab and classroom environment.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Ability to adapt curriculum to student needs and implement assessment strategies.
Willingness to use technology to enhance engagement.
Team‑work and professional ethics per Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission.
Physical Demands
Requires standing, walking, reaching, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds (occasionally 50 pounds).
Requires performing tasks at a keyboard or workstation for extended periods.
Requires speaking and hearing with clear vision for close and distance tasks.
