(pro rata) plus 17% super* **New opportunity to gain meaningful academic experience in education within** **the Department of Infrastructure Engineering in a** **vibrant** **School of** **Electrical, Mechanical and Infrastructure Engineering****.*** **Undertake career advancing professional development, including minimum 30 hours paid professional development*** **Salary packaging, subsidised health and wellbeing services, fitness and cultural clubs, Myki discounts, and a 25% discount on graduate courses to our staff and their immediate families****About the Role**The School of Electrical, Mechanical and Infrastructure Engineering invites applications for a new Graduate Researcher Academic Associate (GRAA) position from graduate researchers currently enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology with discipline and domain knowledge as required in the following subject areas:* GEOM20013 Applying Digital Infrastructure* CVEN30011 Data-Driven Transport PlanningAs a GRAA, the position will contribute positively, both individually and as part of a team, to educating, inspiring and supporting students. The GRAA will work directly with the teaching team and be responsible for carrying out education related activities for the mentioned subjects. Key education responsibilities will include:* Delivery of sessional teaching activities (which includes tutorial, laboratory experiments and field work) in relevant Department discipline subjects* Development of teaching resources for both Undergraduate and Masters subjects* Other Academic activities, including student consultations, assessment feedback, monitoring discussion board and marking* Improving the Accessibility and Inclusivity of teaching materials and the Canvas Learning Management SystemIn addition, you will be supported to participate as a valued academic member of the School in contributing to the School’s academic mission, life and community and supported to engage in at least 30 hours of paid professional development.**Who We Are Looking For**We are seeking applicants enrolled as a University of Melbourne student undertaking a graduate research degree (either Doctor of Philosophy or other research doctorate) of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology with discipline and domain knowledge in the following areas:* Geographic Information Systems and spatial analysis* Data base management* Fundamentals of transport systems theory* Experience with GTFS data processing.You will be a passionate educator and have the ability to contribute positively, both individually and as part of a team, to educating, inspiring and supporting students. You will also have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage one’s own time effectively, administer multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.For further information regarding responsibilities and requirements, please refer to the attached PD.*This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
