Position
Psychiatric Prescriber — Merrionette Park Center.
Salary and Bonus
Starting salary ranges from $271,600 to $300,000 annually, based on skill and experience level. $2,500 sign‑on bonus for first‑time employees with MFS ($1,250 on the first paycheck and $1,250 after 6 months of employment).
Essential Job Functions
Conduct comprehensive, in‑depth psychiatric evaluations for patients enrolled in the program.
Provide ongoing medication management/Medication Assisted Recovery (MAR) to assigned patients at a minimum of every 90 days.
Provide oversight of assigned patient population within a multi‑disciplinary team.
Coordinate with a nurse for patients needing injections.
Order and review lab work minimally 1–2 times per year and as needed for patients.
Communicate with other members of the care team as needed.
Participate in clinical staffing with supervisors and behavioral health team members.
Participate in staff training and development as requested.
Meet agency expectations for quality and quantity of direct service.
Assist in program development related to psychiatric care of patients.
Comply with agency documentation standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Physician or advanced practice provider who can prescribe medications.
Must carry personal liability insurance coverage.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Board certified in General Psychiatry, or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)/Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP‑BC).
Participation in CME activities as mandated by Maintenance of Certification requirements.
Currently licensed to practice in Illinois and possess a current Illinois Mid‑Level Practitioner Controlled Substance License and federal DEA number (if an APRN) or medical license and an IL and federal DEA controlled substance license.
Minimum 2 years of experience working with adults, children/adolescents, or older adults.
Preferred additional training and certifications:
Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship and/or subspecialty Addiction Psychiatry Certification.
Completion of an accredited Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship, Board‑eligible or Board‑certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by ABPN.
Completion of a one‑year ACGME‑accredited geriatric psychiatry fellowship, or board‑certified or board‑eligible in Geriatric Psychiatry by ABPN.
Additional Requirements
Satisfactorily pass all relevant screening and criminal background checks.
Physical and Transportation Requirements
Driving is not required.
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle, and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.
