Job Summary
The Patient Care Coordinator functions as an integral part of a high quality, efficiency-driven medical team. Duties will be similar to those required of an Emergency Room Tech in a hospital Emergency Department. The PCC helps create a positive patient experience and supports patient complaints similar to those in an ER Room, including chest pain, abdominal pain, injuries, fractured bones, etc.
Essential Job Functions
Deliver patient care to a variety of patients (fast track, med/surg and critical care).
Perform quality splinting, dressing applications, and wound care.
Performance of EKG’s/cardiac monitoring with recognition of basic arrhythmias.
Assist in procedure set-up (i.e., I&D, suture, vaginal exam, lumbar puncture, chest tube, etc.).
Perform accurate triages and discharges of patients of all ages.
Turn over rooms per protocol (based on patient diagnosis).
Communicate positively with all team members and patients.
Manage the patient tracking system.
Professionally and reasonably delegate to team members (front staff and radiology).
Work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Accurately input patient discharge instructions and prescriptions into computer software.
Successfully participate in Proficiency Testing as directed.
Successfully complete drug screening collection class.
Completes routine checklists (daily, monthly, etc.) as assigned.
Utilize organizational specific software to reference patient records and organizational protocols.
Follow the information security policy and management system, contributing to its effectiveness and actively reporting on its performance.
Qualifications
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Required Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience
One (1) year’s experience.
Required Licenses and Certifications
BLS certified.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work during the week from 9am-7pm; weekend days from 9am-4pm.
Successfully pass a background and drug test.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with patients and employees and help support a culture of passion and enthusiasm.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage changing priorities.
Attention to detail, attentiveness, computer skills, ability to follow written procedures.
Basic math calculations, independent decision making.
Interaction with others using tact and professionalism.
Problem solving.
Reading comprehension, verbal communication.
Writing composition.
Preferred Qualifications
One (1) year previous related experience (Paramedic, EMT, ER Technician).
Paramedic or EMT experience.
Languages
Advanced English is required.
Spanish and Creole are preferred.
Travel
Up to 30% travel to support clinic operations across the market. Travel may include coverage at other clinic locations, trainings, meetings, and other operational needs as they arise.
