Position Summary
Medical Assistant – NYUL Advanced Ortho Associates – Stonybrook. Responsible for assisting physicians and nurses in the care of patients and families by completing assigned patient care tasks and providing competent, safe, compassionate care.
Job Responsibilities
Perform duties such as maintaining patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas, escorting patients, obtaining vital signs, weights, and EKGs.
Assist with blood collection phlebotomy and charting for physicians.
Assist physicians with procedures and ensure exam rooms are cleaned and prepared for the next patient.
Help patients with food, toileting, ambulation, and comfort.
Ensure completion of patient charges per policy.
Clean and sterilize equipment, answer phones, stock exam rooms, and assist with scheduling treatments.
Assist new Medical Assistants and perform administrative responsibilities as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or 2 years of Medical Assistant experience.
Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Basic computer knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
Basic Life Support (BLS).
Medical Assistant Certification.
Knowledge of EPIC Ambulatory and medical terminology.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Salary range: $52,692.00 - $39,878.31 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
