Veterinary Assistant
Full-time: 4x10 hour shift with rotating Saturdays

Covenant Care Animal Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

About You
As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your life-changing work will range from the hands‑on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to surgery assistance, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.
Role responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support veterinarians and Technicians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
Keeping kennels and the clinic clean and restocked.
Restraining patients
Nail trims and anal gland expressions.
Observe and monitor patients recovering from surgery and report any problems to a tech or doctor
Clean and sterilize packs and surgery supplies
Remove IV catheters from surgery patients
Walk all dogs when needed
Assist with the check out process
Other tasks as they are assigned
Experience & Skills Requirements:
1-2 years of clinical experience
Certified Vet Assistant preferred, not required
Team player
Great communication skills

We are open Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm and Saturday 7:30am-12pm
