Mechanical Technician Millwright

Steward Machine is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician / Millwright to assemble industrial machinery, including large gearboxes, motors, and drive systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with precision alignment, coupling installation, and the use of micrometers and other measuring tools. Experience with heavy mechanical assemblies is a plus.
Responsibilities
Assemble and install industrial gearboxes and rotating equipment
Install and fit couplings, keys, and keyways
Perform precision shaft alignment using dial indicators and/or laser tools
Measure components using micrometers, calipers, and precision instruments
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
Install and align motors and drive systems
Perform shimming and adjustments to ensure proper alignment and minimize vibration
Assist in assembly and installation of mechanical systems for heavy equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs as needed
Follow all safety and quality standards
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, millwright work, or industrial maintenance
Knowledge of gearboxes, couplings, and alignment techniques
Ability to accurately read and use micrometers and measuring tools
Experience reading mechanical drawings and tolerances
Familiarity with rigging and handling heavy components
High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift heavy components (50+ lbs with assistance)
Ability to work in industrial environments (noise, grease, heavy equipment)
