What You'll Be Doing
The Medical Technician/Administrative Assistant provides administrative and direct patient care services supporting a comprehensive occupational health program
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical & Administrative Services
Provide clinical services including phlebotomy, vital signs, heights, weights, EKG, and spirometry to support medical surveillance examinations
Support nursing during medical emergencies (GROC communication, security, EHS, managers)
Assist with first aid for occupational injury/illness care, and non-occupational injuries/illnesses
Support and build out nursing/clinic schedules in the Employee Medical Record System, MIE
Administrative tasks: coordinate site access, monitor site mailboxes, filing, scanning, emailing/faxing results, phone triage, medical chart management, daily mail, and other required tasks
Assist with record keeping for annual medical surveillances
Assist with First Aid Safety Team training as required
Support OH team with coordination of health and wellbeing programs
Collaborate with OH team, management, Nurse Practitioner, EHSS, and other teams to assist with development of occupational health and safety programs
Manage site communication including appointment reminders and posting across platforms
Position Requirements
Registered as a Medical Assistant in New Jersey
Completed AAMA or CAAHEP accredited Medical Assistant Course
CPR-BLS/AED certified
At least 3-5 years of experience in occupational health preferred
Phlebotomy experience required
Good interpersonal/communication skills
Detail oriented
Computer skill proficiency, including experience using electronic medical record and Microsoft Suite
