Position Overview
Under the direct supervision of the Diet Supervisors, the Dietary Aide performs a variety of food service, dish room duties, and cash handling duties as well as other related activities.

Hiring Range:
$15.00 - $23.32 (final offer may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations)
Schedule Details:
Friday, Holidays - Every Other Holiday; Monday, Thursday, Tuesday, Wednesday; Weekends - Every Other Weekend
Scheduled Hours:
Per diem, Day shifts and Evening shifts 6:00am to 2:30pm, 11am to 7:30pm, 4pm - 8pm

Key Responsibilities
Follows proper hygiene and safety protocols (e.g., hand washing, glove usage, HACCP guidelines)
Maintains a sanitary and safe work environment
Provides courteous customer service and communicates effectively
Prepares and delivers food trays accurately and efficiently
Operates dishwashing equipment and maintains cleanliness
Assists with food production, cafeteria service, and cashiering
Completes required training and adheres to departmental standards
Demonstrates flexibility, teamwork, and initiative in daily tasks
Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives
Attends a variety of meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed
Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations
Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements
Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility, and acceptance toward all employees, patients, and visitors
Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed

Qualifications
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
Ability to read, write, speak & understand English at an 8th-grade level
Preferred:
High school graduate
Serve Safe certification
Experience/Skills:
Preferred:
Food service experience in a healthcare facility
Good interpersonal communication skills
Ability to read and comprehend patient meal ticket information
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Physical stamina for frequent movement and standing
Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
Standing, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, repetitive movements: Constantly
Lifting/Carrying: Frequently up to 50 lbs
Working in temperature extremes: Frequently
Precise motor skills, hearing, and vision: Required
