Under general supervision of the Director or Diagnostic Imaging, this position is responsible for scanning and producing a variety of computerized tomography examinations for physician interpretation and diagnosis of injury and/or disease for all patient ages.
Assists the Radiologist with all diagnostic and interventional procedures. Delivers exceptional patient care and adheres to radiation standards and guidelines set forth by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service. Performs related clerical and service duties and assists with other departments as needed.
Major Responsibilities
Properly perform all CT scan examinations appropriate to the age of the patient in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, consistent with departmental and professional standards and protocols.
Gather pertinent clinical data and maintain accurate patient records.
Accurately complete all records, paperwork and billings and submit promptly.
Position and transfer patients appropriately and assist physicians with interventional exams.
Promptly and properly complete exams, perform QC on images and appropriately send exams to PACS for the physicians to review.
All responsibilities are essential job functions.
Position Qualifications
License/Certification/Education:
AART certification in Radiology or NMTCB in Nuclear Medicine required. RTR licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
Must take the initial exam for the ARRT certification in CT Scan within 6 months of the completion of the required competencies.
Exam delays will be reviewed on a case‑by‑case basis.
Must pass the ARRT CT certification exam within 12 months.
BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
Experience/Skills:
Maintain all area specific CEUs for ARRT, DPH according to regulation.
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
Addendum for Milford Regional
License/Certification/Education:
AART certification in Radiology or NMTCB in Nuclear Medicine required. RTR licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
