Social Worker – Clinical Oncology

Per Diem
Shift:
Day shift; 8:00 am – 4:30 pm and 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
Location:
Cancer Center – Fall River, MA
We are seeking a qualified Social Worker-Clinical-Oncology to provide clinical social work services to patients and families. The role includes:
Provide clinical social work services to patients and families, removing barriers to care by providing interventions/referrals for financial and transportation issues.
Conduct case management services independently, applying clinical diagnostic, assessment, or treatment knowledge and skills.
Identify and address psychosocial factors that may impede patients' ability to optimize benefits from the health care delivery experience.
Perform age‑specific assessments of psychological and social functioning, including determining psychiatric diagnoses according to current DSM criteria and establishing intervention plans.
Screen and evaluate patients and families for psychological distress during diagnosis and disease progression.
Qualifications
Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university required.
Current Massachusetts Social Work license – LCSW required; LICSW preferred.
Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Word.
Three (3) years of medical/psych/SA experience required, preferably in a hospital setting.
Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID‑19, or provide an exemption statement if medically or personally exempt.
