What You Will Be Doing
F-35 Contracts is seeking a motivated Contracts professional with contracting experience in FAR and DFARS-based Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Direct Commercial Sales (DCS), and Offset, Industrial Development/Participation. This role will require creativity, adaptability, creation of unique work products, and an ability to synthesize complex contracting concepts in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
The successful candidate will perform a key role in strategically shaping the future of Lockheed Martin through capturing follow-on and new business while supporting contract execution during performance.
Key Responsibilities
Negotiate new and follow‑on contracts with primarily U.S. Government Customers.
Generation of Contracts Management work products such as formal letters to Customers, Proposals/Quotes to Customers, Proposal Authorizations, Work Authorization Documents, Directives, Proprietary Information Agreements, and other business agreements.
Review and evaluate Customer requests for proposal or revisions to contracts. Often includes review of terms and conditions.
Preparation of proposals to Customers and the underlying proposal review briefing packages, fact finding and negotiation; provide risk assessments and offer creative contracting approaches to mitigate risks, including alternative contractual language / clauses.
Investigate and reconcile significant contract changes involving cost, specifications, schedules, etc. and advise management of contractual rights and responsibilities.
Serve as a business advisor to the senior Finance and Business Operations staff and Program Management team on matters pertaining to business and contracting issues.
Contract execution and administration.
Coordinate and consult with LM Legal staff as appropriate.
Oversee the evaluation of contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations.
Maintain constant communications both internally and externally with Customers for timely contract execution by the parties.
Ensure final contract documents are consistent with agreements reached at negotiations.
Brief management on program status and contractual issues.
Effective working understanding of Lockheed Martin procedures and application.
Potential for ad‑hoc assistance with the preparation of Pricing and Availability (P&A) responses for FMS and subsequent processes of securing Letters of Acceptance (LOAs).
Ability to travel and work overtime required.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 6 years of professional experience or 4 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
Experience in all aspects of the contract life cycle including proposals, negotiations, administration throughout performance, and contract close‑out.
Experienced in the FAR and DFAR and the application of the laws in DOD contracting.
Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Desired Skills
Foreign Military Sales (FMS) experience desired.
Offsets and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) experience desired.
Experience engaging in routine and unique challenges, to help develop solutions for multimillion‑dollar contracts.
Experience managing multiple tasks and assignments concurrently.
Interpersonal & Organizational skills.
Presentation experience.
