Process Technician - Defect Inspection Night

onsemi is seeking a Process Technician - Defect Inspection in Hopewell Junction, NY. This role requires a defect application technician to provide day‑to‑day line support to the sector, including lot hold, tool disposition, recipe builds, and execution of engineering experiments. Application technicians work a 12‑hour shift schedule in the cleanroom. N2 backend compress shift.
Responsibilities
Day‑to‑day operation support of the sector within a 12‑hour shift schedule.
Work closely with application engineers, analysts, and production teams.
Build recipes on bare wafer, brightfield, darkfield, macro inspection, and SEM review tools.
Recover from process and tool interruptions, including lot and equipment disposition.
Author department work instructions and procedures.
Perform engineering experiments.
Identify ways to improve tool availability, cycle time, utilization, and cost; participate in continuous improvement.
Train new team members.
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Qualifications
Education – HS Diploma, AAS degree strongly preferred.
Experience – 3 years semiconductor cleanroom experience.
Strong, effective communication and leadership/teamwork skills are required.
Language Fluency – Fluent in English (written & verbal).
onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $21.20 – $36.92 per hour, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and consideration of internal equity. We also offer a competitive benefits package.
