ABOUT THE ROLE
The Day Services Technician is responsible for the management of all water services to the plant as well as for the installation and maintenance of the irrigation system. This is an important role, as production can be halted if issues arise in managing the water services or recovering gold. The role will interact with all plant operations personnel, production crews, maintenance and regional dewatering/infrastructure services personnel.
To efficiently operate and maintain the integrity of the water services and heap irrigation pipeline installation that assists in the smooth operation of the processing plant and to participate in maintaining high housekeeping standards.
DUTIES
Safe and efficient operation of equipment and machinery.
Liaise with Processing, Maintenance and Dewatering personnel to maintain adequate Water Services.
Effective servicing and checks on pump equipment for Pit water / Wastewater discharge.
Troubleshooting of Water treatment plant equipment issues. Make sure plant got enough reagents for night shifts or weekends.
Identifying and managing risks to the heap irrigation pipeline fabrication to be completed on time.
Initiate and participate in equipment handovers with the Production Superintendent, Shift Supervisor and shift Operators.
Maintaining daily communication and keeping up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining service logs and internal service records on time.
Maintain a high level of housekeeping.
Isolation of equipment for maintenance
Training of other personnel as required.
Ability to fill the process technician position in day shift when the crew are short of staff in the short term.
Any other duties as required.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of gold processing
2 to 5 years plant operator experience (Desirable)
Satisfactory National Police Clearance Certificate
Valid work visa, permanent residency or Australian citizenship
