Job Description
The Student Assistant provides data entry and administrative support for the UF Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Program’s statewide tobacco cessation referral program. The position is responsible for entering client referral information into the Tobacco Free Florida AHEC Cessation Tracking (TFFACT) system to support participant outreach and class enrollment. Duties include accurate data entry, routine quality‑control review of referral information, and maintenance of confidential records. The position requires strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, and the ability to follow established procedures.
This position will be located at the University of Florida East Campus (2046 NE Waldo Rd, Gainesville, FL 32609). There is ample parking and a bus route that drops off at East Campus' entrance.
$17.00 per hour
Required Qualifications
Current enrollment as a University of Florida student.
Ability to perform accurate data entry and maintain organized records.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and correct data discrepancies.
Basic computer skills, including experience with web‑based applications and Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to follow written instructions and established procedures.
Ability to organize work, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with established protocols and policies.
Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred
Interest in healthcare, public health, or health education programs.
Experience with data verification, record review, or quality‑control tasks.
Familiarity with referral systems, databases, or similar software.
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
