JR2735We are seeking a highly experienced Utility Track Hoe Operator to support underground utility and pipe installation work on local Kansas City–area projects. This role is strictly utility-focused and does not involve mass grading or dirt work. The ideal candidate is a seasoned operator with a strong track record in live utility environments, trench work, and pipe installation, with a clear emphasis on safety, precision, and production.# **Responsibilities*** Operate track hoes/excavators for underground utility installation, including:* Storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water main installation* Trenching, backfilling, and pipe placement* Work closely with pipe crews and foremen to safely and efficiently install utilities per plans and grade stakes* Excavate around existing utilities with a high level of care and accuracy* Set trench boxes, place bedding material, and fine-grade trenches for pipe installation* Perform daily equipment inspections and basic routine maintenance* Read and interpret utility plans, cut sheets, and trench details* Maintain a clean, safe work area and strictly follow all safety policies and procedures# **Qualifications*** High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in heavy equipment operation preferred* Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience operating a track hoe specifically for utility/pipe work* Proven experience working in tight, live-utility environments* Strong understanding of:* Trenching safety and OSHA requirements* Pipe grades, bedding, and backfill practices* Ability to work efficiently without damaging existing utilities* Reliable transportation to local Kansas City job sites* Willingness to work overtime as project schedules required**Preferred Qualifications*** Experience in heavy civil or highway utility work* Ability to assist with labor tasks as needed when equipment is down* Demonstrated history of working well with utility crews and foremenEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
