Senior Accountant
The
Senior Accountant
reports directly to the Accounting Manager with primary responsibility to ensure compliance with US GAAP financial reporting, timely balance sheet reconciliations and streamlined close procedures. The Senior Accountant has a highly visible role in the Finance organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide overall accounting support for all areas of the company’s books and records, including journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations and period-end close process.
Assist management in developing standardized processes to drive departmental efficiencies and compliance with accounting policies.
Think independently in problem solving, risk-assessment and decision-making with minimal supervision while building strong relationships with business unit and corporate management teams.
Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure that reconciling items are resolved timely.
Prepare or review the reconciliation of system integrations including operating/billing system, lease, T&E and payroll systems to Great Plains (ERP).
Identify ways to streamline and improve upon the reconciliation process, assisting with reconciliation when needed.
Execute and review period-end close procedures in Great Plains (ERP).
Provide technical accounting expertise and direction to business unit management teams during close cycle.
Provide direct support during the year-end external financial statement audit to fulfill all audit requests timely and act as a liaison with external auditors.
Provide direct support for income tax provision, 401k audit and ad hoc accounting projects.
Ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Accounting/Technical
– Must be capable of coordinating/performing end-to-end accounting process through month-end close and preparation of financial statements. This includes preparation of several month-end general journal entries. Must be very detail oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality of data.
Cost Consciousness
– Must be able to enforce department-related company policies and budgets while maintaining a good working relationship with other departments.

– Takes responsibility for own actions, keeps commitments, commits to reaching goals, and completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.

Qualifications – Education, Experience, Certificates and Licenses
BA/BS in accounting.
5+ years of public accounting and corporate accounting experience; include a minimum of two years in a large national or global accounting firm.
Master’s degree and/or CPA is preferred, progress toward the completion of CPA certification required.
Proficient computer skills MS Word, Excel, Outlook and database software; must be able to toggle between multiple screens.
Prior experience with Great Plains preferred.

Shift Hours:
8 am – 5 pm (Available to work extra hours occasionally preferred.)
Salary:
$80,000 – $85,000
