We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical
Commercial Credit Analyst
to join our commercial lending team. In this entry-level role, you will be the engine behind our loan approval process. You’ll dive into financial statements, assess the stability of local businesses, and provide the data-driven insights our lenders need to make smart, safe, and impactful loans. This is a perfect “foot in the door” for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build a foundation in commercial banking.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Financial Spreading:
Input data from business tax returns and financial statements into our analysis software to calculate key metrics (Debt Service Coverage, Leverage, and Liquidity).
Risk Assessment:
Identify potential “red flags” in credit reports, industry trends, or financial performance that might impact a borrower’s ability to repay.
Credit Memorandums:
Assist in drafting clear, concise loan narratives that summarize your findings and provide a recommendation for approval or denial.
Portfolio Management:
Help monitor existing loans to ensure businesses are meeting their financial requirements and staying healthy.
Collaboration:
Work closely with Lenders and the Credit Manager to gather missing information and understand the unique story behind every business application.
What We’re Looking For (Requirements)
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in
Finance, Accounting, or Economics .
Excel Savvy:
You should be comfortable with formulas and organizing data in Microsoft Excel.
Meticulous Work Ethic:
A hardworking professional with a sharp eye for detail who takes pride in producing error-free work and managing tight deadlines.
Natural Curiosity:
You like solving puzzles and “reading between the lines” of financial data.
Communication:
Ability to explain complex numbers in simple, written English.
Integrity:
High level of professionalism and the ability to handle confidential financial information with care.
