Our client, a global manufacturing and distribution company, is looking for a Logistics Specialist to join their growing team! The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and optimizing transportation processes to ensure the efficient, timely, and cost-effective movement of goods across the supply chain.
This role will support daily logistics operations by working closely with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams. The Logistics Specialist is a self-driven role that requires initiative, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to identify opportunities to optimize processes and reduce costs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:
Coordinate supply chain activities by collaborating with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to ensure smooth and efficient logistics operations.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate shipments to ensure timely delivery of goods.
Optimize transportation routes and shipping methods to reduce costs and improve overall efficiency.
Negotiate transportation terms, services, and pricing with vendors and carriers.
Prepare, review, and manage shipping documentation including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and other compliance-related records.
Ensure compliance with transportation, customs, safety, and regulatory requirements as well as internal company policies.
Maintain accurate logistics records and complete required clerical and administrative tasks.
Analyze logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Prepare reports and performance metrics for management review.
Serve as a point of contact for logistics-related inquiries from suppliers and internal teams.
Take initiative to troubleshoot and resolve shipment delays, damages, and discrepancies in a timely manner.
Recommend and support process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency, compliance, and cost effectiveness.
Stay current on logistics industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
2–4 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain coordination.
Self-starter with a proactive, goal-oriented, and energetic mindset.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
Knowledge of domestic and/or international shipping regulations and practices.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
