PACKAGING OPERATOR (4 AM - 2 PM, MON-THR)
Full Time, Waukesha, WI, US
The Packaging Operator works with sleeving and packaging machines, making necessary adjustments to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality packaging.
Operate and clean sleeving and packaging machines according to procedures.
Ensure sleeves are applied correctly and bottles do not back up.
Put away sleeves when necessary.
Verify date codes for the day's run.
Communicate machine status and unacceptable bottle quality to supervisor or Plant Manager.
Assist other machine operators during downtime or job reassignments to maintain departmental efficiency.
Unload and load trailers as needed.
Refill empty cap totes.
Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance promptly.
Report to workstation on time, wear proper work attire, and help set up the work area.
Pass the forklift exam.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Sanitization Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) that meet HACCP, FDA, EPA, OSHA, USDA, WDA, and customer requirements.
Adhere to Lifeway Employee Policy.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
High school diploma required, or three to six months of related experience, or equivalent.
Leadership, organization, and self‑efficacy skills.
Ability to read and write comprehensive reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, and to present them to managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Basic mathematical skills and understanding of algebra and geometry.
Knowledge of manufacturing software, inventory software, and Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook).
Must be able to lift 50 lbs., be on your feet for the entire 8‑hour shift, climb ladders, and maneuver through equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
