What You'll Do
As the Drill Mechanic, you will maintain and repair mobile drill equipment, at remote customer sites including engines, chassis, and track frames to assure safe, reliable, and cost-effective use. Other duties include, but are not limited to:
Repair and maintain drills and related equipment to assure safe and reliable.
Troubleshoot (Drills) equipment and make necessary repairs.
Maintain all drills / vehicle maintenance records to assure timely maintenance of drills and vehicles.
Learn, apply and accurately update all applicable modules of Manager Plus (or other) maintenance tracking software including work orders with parts and labor accurately recorded.
Maintain parts supply inventories and equipment in order to have necessary parts and supplies readily available and to control costs.
Purchase parts and supplies needed for repair and maintenance of drills / vehicles to fulfill maintenance requirements in a cost-effective manner
Responsibly maintain company provided service truck and related equipment to meet company and regulatory requirements.
Maintain safe working condition and assure that all crew members and others on the site follow all safety and regulatory procedures and practices to ensure a safe and successful event.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment where required, and may require lifting of 60 lbs.
Maintain good communications with manager, leads, drill operations manager and drill operators with equipment and work order status.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of heavy mechanics / drilling or related experience
Experience with gasoline and diesel engines, chassis, heavy vehicle repair and maintenance, including electrical and hydraulic systems
Tank inspection certification is desirable.
Manufacturers' certifications and training in various vehicle systems.
A CDL license is desirable, but not required
Must have own tools
Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
