Job Summary
The Water Gathering & Disposal, Operator/Pumper I is an entry‑level role responsible for the safe and efficient operation of saltwater disposal (SWD) facilities and associated pipeline systems. This position supports daily monitoring, minor troubleshooting, and reporting of field operations while traveling to multiple sites. Operator/Pumper I plays a vital part in maintaining uptime and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Responsibilities
Monitor SWD operations and report daily to the Operations Manager via email or verbal updates
Make rounds to assigned facilities, ensuring proper function of truck offloads, pumps, and injection equipment
Collect and log operational data including well pressures (PSI), daily volumes, and system conditions
Assist with maintaining oil recovery operations under the guidance of senior personnel
Clean or replace bag filters daily or as needed
Use hand tools to perform maintenance, reducing equipment downtime
Identify and report issues or irregularities requiring escalation
Assist with basic equipment troubleshooting and support minor onsite repairs
Coordinate with operations team for maintenance and well servicing needs
Help ensure facilities remain clean, secure, and compliant with environmental and safety regulations
Support field clean‑up efforts in the event of a leak or spill
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements; report any safety concerns immediately
Comply with company and regulatory reporting requirements
Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
1+ year of oilfield or industrial experience preferred
High school diploma or GED required
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn troubleshooting and field maintenance
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and follow procedures
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and data entry tools)
Familiarity with pipelines, pumps, and disposal operations a plus
Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company vehicle use requirements
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, move, or carry 50+ lbs
Regular walking, standing, climbing ladders, kneeling, and working at heights
Frequent travel between field sites and occasional work in confined spaces
Operate motor vehicles and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and depth perception
