Overview
The Emory Sports Medicine Outreach Athletic Trainer is responsible for assisting with coordination and delivery of high-quality sports medicine services to all student-athletes. The Athletic Trainer must perform many of the outlined tasks with minimal or no supervision in the clinical setting. Problems encountered are of a moderate to higher level of complexity and a considerable amount of creativity, resourcefulness, and innovation are utilized in problem solving.

Responsibilities
Assisting in the administration of all aspects of injury/illness prevention, recognition, evaluation, management, treatment, rehabilitation, and health care education and counseling for student athletes.
Primary sport(s) assignment, with assistance across all sports in a collaborative team approach; may include nights, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel as necessary.
Documentation of and maintaining accurate injury records.
Organization of rehabilitation and injury prevention programs.
Cooperation and collaboration with strength and conditioning staff.
Coordination and oversight of all necessary medical referrals.
Collaboration with team physicians, physical therapists, and other allied health-care professional providers.
Direct communication with coaches, parents, student-athletes, athletic administration, and other stakeholders when appropriate.
Acting as Athletic Training Room coverage during scheduled open hours to see walk-in athletes.
Perform other duties and administrative tasks as assigned and commensurate with the normal activities related to athletic training service.
Promote and support the strategic plan of the School Athletics and the Emory vision of Sports Medicine Outreach.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
Unrestricted Athletic Trainer (ATC) licensure to practice in Georgia.
BOCAT Certification required.
1-2 years of related experience preferred; newly licensed professionals encouraged to apply.
