Position Summary
The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting a wide range of human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, personnel records, policy management, payroll, workers' compensation, training, and adherence to California employment law. This role serves as a resource for both employees and management, ensuring HR policies and procedures are consistently applied and aligned with organizational goals.
Specific Responsibilities
Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute human resources and talent strategies.
Process bi-weekly payroll in ADP.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and maintain advanced knowledge of California labor regulations.
Maintain confidential employee records, including personal data, compensation, tax information, attendance, performance evaluations, promotions, and terminations.
Coordinate and support employee and supervisory training initiatives.
Maintain accurate records for employee benefits administration.
Process insurance billing and related documentation.
Support recruiting activities, including background checks, reference checks, offer letters, onboarding, and exit interviews.
Maintain documentation and support investigations related to employee relations issues.
Assist the accounting department with monthly benefits and labor reporting.
Compile personnel data and prepare reports for management or regulatory agencies as directed (e.g., monthly reports, unemployment hearings, agency inquiries).
Serve as a member of the safety team; maintain accurate records of workplace accidents and injuries and coordinate with employees, insurance carriers, and medical providers.
Assist the General Manager with administrative duties.
Organize all employee functions- including holiday party, annual picnic, incentive awards, and prizes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or other related fields.
At least 3-5 years of HR experience.
Strong background with California employment and wage & hour laws background.
Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
Bi-lingual Spanish is required.
Ability to work and build relationships with a cross functional manufacturing team/facility.
Team oriented, innovative, results driven, and organized.
HRIS system (specifically ADP Workforce Now) experience is a plus.
HR Certification is a plus.
Pay Rate
$85,000 - $95,000 per year (Exempt)
