Job Description - CT Scan Technologist - Part Time
Demonstrate proficiency in the performance of CT imaging exams, the use of pediatric immobilization devices, and the production of computerized tomographic radiographs. The technologist shall prepare written documentation, observe radiation safety standards, and operate PACS. The role requires computer literacy and strict adherence to departmental policies and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic CT imaging examinations.
Maintain established department policies and procedures.
Verify patient identity before procedures by checking requisition and patient identification band.
Explain procedures to patients in lay terminology and answer questions.
Label images with correct patient identification.
Enter required documentation, such as informed consents and chart notes.
Complete examinations in a timely manner while observing radiation safety.
Transport patients to and from radiographic areas.
Send images to PACS and evaluate image technical quality.
Perform portable and operating room/CT examinations.
Assist patients of all age groups and provide reasonable accommodations for special needs.
Observe hospital rules regarding attendance, punctuality, attitude, courtesy, and respect for co‑workers.
Maintain confidentiality of personnel and patient information, both electronic and print.
Produce CDs and print films from PACS.
Required Experience and Qualifications
High School Graduate.
Graduate of Radiology Program, NYSDOH License, ARRT.
Current BLS provider certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
CT Certification / Certified to inject.
Computer knowledge preferred.
Additional Requirements Prior to Start Date
Successfully complete a pre‑employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Employee Health Services.
Complete electronic reference checks with a minimum of three professional references.
Successfully complete a drug screen.
Meet regulatory requirements for pre‑employment screenings.
Provide any required New York State license(s) / certificate(s).
Failure to Comply
Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
Anticipated Pay Range
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established based on relevant experience. The above salary range represents SBSH’s good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.
