Overview
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving and recording all food products, supplies, and merchandise. Maintains accurate inventory records, and serves as a delivery driver as needed for on-campus drop-offs. Aligns daily work with the Villanova Mission Statement and the Dining Services Mission Statement, focusing on safety, sanitation, courteous service, quality, attention to detail, and continuous improvement of systems and operations.

Responsibilities

Inspect, receive, and record all food and supplies delivered according to safe food handling guidelines and procedures; return or refuse items as needed; date and store all items using FIFO inventory principles.

Maintain accurate inventory records of all food products, supplies, and merchandise.

Maintain order and cleanliness of all food and non-food storage areas.

Drive University vehicles for Dining Services as needed.

Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Formal Education:

High School degree or equivalent.

Work Experience:

1+ year as a receiver or related experience dealing with inventory control.

Work Skills:

Must have math skills to maintain records of inventory on hand, used, and ordered; valid driver’s license and approval as a University driver per policy; ability to follow directions and complete assigned tasks; effective communication and basic reading/writing skills; ability to work with minimal supervision.

Physical requirements and/or unusual work hours as described (see below).

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs independently.

Ability to withstand extreme temperatures (hot/cold).

Ability to use chemicals and wear appropriate protective equipment as required.

Kitchen equipment operation as part of the role.

Special Notes
Schedule during normal operating hours: Tuesday – Saturday, 6am – 3pm.
