Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to troubleshoot operating system, hardware, software, Microsoft Office 2013/2016 applications, CD/DVD burning, and printer issues
Flexible working conditions and schedules; ability to lift 15–30 lbs
Open to training and skills development
Attention to detail, ability to multitask, stay on top of deadlines, fast learner, training skills, reporting/documenting capabilities, and excellent people skills
Job Description Summary
Under general supervision, assists the student computer user at Gwinnett Technical College.
Duties/Responsibilities
Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately – 20%
Performs basic administrative/clerical tasks to support the daily operation of the computer lab – 20%
Provides oral and written reports as required – 15%
Establishes and maintains records/files relating to the program's mission (daily sign‑in logs, if necessary) – 15%
Carefully listens to student(s) and offers encouragement and support – 15%
Maintains a positive, warm attitude that encourages the student(s) to learn – 15%
Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness – 20%
Demonstrates eagerness to learn and assume responsibility; seeks out and accepts increased responsibility; displays a "can do" approach to work – 20%
Shows persistence and seeks alternatives when obstacles arise; acts proactively – 10%
Operates computers, copiers, and other office equipment; performs routine user preventive maintenance on office equipment; initiates, composes and accurately types correspondence and administrative documents according to established guidelines – 10%
Works within the system in a resourceful manner to accomplish reasonable work goals; shows flexibility in response to process change and adapts to and accommodates new methods and procedures – 5%
