Job Summary
Clean and service guest, patient, public, clinical and administrative areas. Maintain a clean and aseptic environment. Shift time: 7am‑3:30pm.
Responsibilities
Maintain assigned area in a clean and aseptic manner.
Maintain environmental closet and equipment in a clean, aseptic and orderly manner.
Assist with restock of café and bar (where necessary).
Assist with special cleaning projects and room turnover.
Follow all current Joint Commission / CMS regulations pertaining to Environment of Care and Cleaning requirements.
Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education
Required – None (ability to read, write and speak/understand verbal communication in English to follow instructions and perform daily tasks).
Preferred – High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience
Required – Experience in operating environmental services equipment (including dust mop, wet mop, bucket and wringer, spray bottles, and dustpan).
Preferred – 1 year relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to read, write and speak/understand verbal communication in English to follow instructions and perform daily tasks.
Basic knowledge of housekeeping, cleaning and cleaning equipment/supplies.
Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed.
Ability to listen, take direction and complete job tasks with minimal supervision.
Physical and Environmental Demands
Heavy work – occasional exertion of 50 to 100 pounds and/or frequent exertion of 25 to 50 pounds, with constant lifting of 10 to 20 pounds. Physical demands exceed those for sedentary work. Mechanical lifting devices or team lifts should be utilized. Must work with and around chemicals, including acidic and alkaline substances. Duties routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue, and may involve exposure to communicable diseases. Hazardous medications or waste may be encountered. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
