About The Role
The Waste Process Technician I (WPT I) is an entry‑level position responsible for safely performing fundamental tasks such as off‑loading inbound trucks, managing waste stream QA/QC, verifying container counts and manifests, sampling, recognizing non‑conforming material, and processing material through shredding operations, direct loading into solidification pits, LDI, and related activities. The role requires general mechanical understanding of waste processing equipment, including forklift, forklift attachments, hose, and valve operation. Shifts include 1st: 5:00‑am to 3:00‑pm, 2nd: 3:00‑pm to 11:30‑pm, or 3rd: 10:30‑pm to 6:30‑am.

Responsibilities

Understand basic facility permit requirements and conduct daily activities to support all safety and compliance requirements.

Operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to pressure washers, power tools, hand trucks, forklifts, and other power tools in accordance with company policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.

Safely operate mobile equipment (e.g., yard dog) within the facility boundaries.

Off‑load inbound packages, liquid trucks, and containers.

Process inbound material using facility and mobile equipment.

Conduct waste stream QA/QC and lab analysis associated with receiving and shipping waste and material.

Complete and submit all facility‑associated paperwork (receiving, piece count, material verification, manifest review, etc.) as required for regulatory and safety record‑keeping.

General cleaning of facility and grounds.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).

1+ year of relevant experience; Reworld offers a fully funded GED program.

Ability to pass a respirator fit test.

Proficiency in using NetSuite.

Good judgment and problem‑solving skills.

Attention to detail and time management.

Capacity to operate cranes, forklifts, hand trucks, and other power tools.

Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Capability for kneeling, crawling, stooping, bending, or twisting for extended periods.

Capability for walking and/or standing and/or sitting for extended periods.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The range below reflects Reworld’s reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. The final salary will be determined based on experience, education, geographic location, skills, and other factors. Pay ranges are reviewed periodically and may be modified.
