Waste Processing Technician I

About the role
The Waste Process Technician I (WPT I) is an entry level position responsible for safely performing tasks including off‑loading inbound trucks, waste stream QA/QC, verifying container count, manifest number, container sampling, recognizing non‑conforming material, processing material through shredding operations, direct loading into solidification pit, LDI, etc. The WPT I is expected to have a general mechanical understanding of waste processing equipment, operating forklifts, forklift attachments, hose, and valve operation.
Position Responsibilities
Understand basic facility permit requirements and conduct daily activities to support all safety and compliance requirements.
Operate a variety of equipment including pressure washers, power tools, hand trucks, forklifts, and other power tools in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as OSHA requirements.
Safely operate mobile equipment such as yard dog within the facility boundaries.
Off‑load inbound packages, liquid trucks, and containers.
Process inbound material using facility and mobile equipment.
Perform waste stream QA/QC & lab analysis associated with receiving and shipping waste and material.
Complete and submit all facility associated paperwork for regulatory and safety record keeping.
General cleaning of facility and grounds.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
One plus year of experience.
Must be able to operate forklifts and other power tools.
Ability to utilize NetSuite.
Exercise good judgment and problem‑solving skills.
Demonstrate attention to detail and time management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Physical Demands of the Role
Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb.
Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.
Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces.
Qualify to wear a full‑face respirator.
Consistently work in various weather conditions.
Pay Transparency
Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably and provides competitive compensation and benefits. The base pay range for the primary location is $35,600.00 - $47,300.00 USD. The final salary will be determined based on factors including experience, education, geographic location, skills, and other relevant criteria.
