Responsibilities
Sabre Systems is currently recruiting a Manufacturing & Quality Specialist for the Manufacturing and Quality Engineering (M&QE) Division, in NAVAIR’s Systems Acquisition Group. The candidate will provide manufacturing and quality expertise to the V-22 Osprey Joint Program Office (PMA-275) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. NAVAIR's PMA-275 manages the cradle‑to‑grave procurement, development, support, fielding, and disposal of the tiltrotor program systems for the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. A government civilian engineer lead and another government civilian engineer are currently on team.
Provide Manufacturing & Quality Specialist support for the V-22 Osprey Joint Program Office taking directions from a senior Government Civilian M&Q engineer.
Conduct quality research and data analysis to provide support in the establishment of M&QE requirements and management of M&QE efforts through all acquisition phases, including capacity analysis to examine for scalability.
Examine suppliers and perform facilities evaluations assessing contractor design, development and manufacturing/quality planning activities, ensuring that production and producibility considerations are being appropriately integrated into the systems engineering process.
Develop or review designs by extracting and analyzing a variety of engineering data and applying conventional engineering practices to develop, prepare, or recommend schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings and parts lists.
Conduct tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures; preparing and operating equipment; recording data; and measuring and recording problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution at a higher level and analyzes data and prepares test reports.
Evaluate design producibility, manufacturing planning and proposed or actual production/quality processes considering program affordability needs and with respect to established schedules and production plans.
Prepare technical risk assessments for decision meetings and related briefings.
Support the M&QE Division and IPT in planning and leading design, manufacturing and quality risk reduction efforts, producibility assessments and Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs).
Provide technical support for producibility and manufacturing discussions in design reviews and program/technical meetings and provide design and process oriented technical inputs.
Identify the causes of potential or actual manufacturing, producibility, or quality problems and recommend solutions to M&QE and IPT management via briefing or written correspondence.
Support the M&QE lead during the conduct of Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs), Quality System Evaluations (QSEs) and other M&QE reviews. Support Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) events.
Conduct quality research and data analysis to assist M&QE Division leadership in improving M&QE products and capabilities so that they optimally support programs and fleet readiness.
Location:
Hybrid position with 10% of the work on‑site at NAS Patuxent River, MD, 20% of the work will be performed at alternative sites; 70% of the work will be performed at the Contractor facility. This work is eligible for teleworking. Active DoD SECRET security clearance is required.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Technical or Scientific AS or AA degree
ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: High School diploma or GED and three (3) years of recent and relevant experience
At least six (6) years of recent and relevant experience in a position related to the labor category description. Four (4) years of experience in installation of hardware and/or equipment. One (1) year of experience in design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings. Experience may be concurrent.
Industrial Engineering background is desired
Supports non-conformance requests and Product Quality Deficiency Reports
V-22 maintenance background or Rotary Wing maintenance background highly preferred
DCMA background would be helpful
Manufacturing & Quality knowledge, skills and abilities
Active DoD SECRET security clearance is required
Must be a U.S. Citizen

Compensation Statement
At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $102,115.00 - $113,077.00.
