Job Description
BWC’s core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across BWC departments. Most positions perform work on-site at one of BWC’s seven offices across the state. BWC offers flex-time work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 7:00am or as late as 8:30am.
What You’ll Be Doing
Performs clerical tasks in support of policy processing teams, claims and Mailroom department
Prepares employer and claims documents for imaging
Operates State-owned vehicles (e.g., vans, passenger vehicles, and 26\' box truck) in order to pick-up and deliver mail and packages to parties on and off-site
Utilizes material handling equipment (e.g., dollies, flatbed carts)
Retrieves mail from other State buildings and handles paperwork associated with completing deliveries
Processes incoming and outgoing policy and claims mail
Uses computer to verify policy coverage status of employer in order to locate policy files
Receives, inspects and records new material, supplies and equipment for distribution throughout the agency
Places asset tags on received items according to rules, policies and procedures
Requires travel and ability to legally operate a state-owned vehicle
Qualifications / Requirements
6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in using personal computer & related business office software; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in office practices & procedures.
Or 6 mos. exp. as Office Professional 1, 12141.
Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, division & reading common English vocabulary; valid driver\'s license if position requires operation of vehicle to pick up or deliver mail.
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Ability to: forward materials to customers via US Mail, Express Mail, UPS, fax, & E-Mail; identify customer needs when customer is unsure & follow up accordingly; carry out detailed but basic instructions; maintain accurate records; cooperate with co-workers on group projects.

Salary Information:
Hourly wage is expected to be paid at step 1 of the pay range for new employees. Current employees will be placed at the appropriate step based on union contract and/or Ohio Revised Code. Movement to the next step occurs after six months, then annually; cost of living adjustments and longevity supplements may apply after five years of state service.
Transportation:
Position may require travel; therefore, applicants must be able to provide own transportation or operate a state-owned vehicle.
Background Check:
Prior to an offer, the final applicant will sign a background check authorization form and undergo a criminal background check. Criminal convictions do not necessarily preclude consideration.
