Job Overview
Atlantic Health, a leading non‑profit healthcare network in New Jersey, is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our interdisciplinary healthcare team at 89 Sparta Ave, Suite 205, Sparta, NJ 07871. The CNM will provide direct patient care under physician supervision in both ambulatory and inpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities
Perform patient assessments, participate in diagnosis, and develop plans of care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
Document care in patient medical records and prepare discharge summaries for referring physicians.
Participate in performance improvement and patient safety initiatives, department meetings, and special projects.
Attend OB hospital calls and provide obstetrical and gynecological care/procedures as needed.
Inpatient Setting (Labor & Delivery)
Attend patients throughout labor, monitor fetal condition, administer medications, and notify physicians of complications requiring surgical intervention.
Evaluate progression of labor and collaborate with clinicians during L&D emergencies, including assistance with C‑sections, placement of fetal scalp electrodes, intrauterine pressure catheters, etc.
Evaluate pre‑term labor, rupture of membranes, and other emergencies for pregnant women over 28 weeks.
Provide post‑partum care, triage, and manage post‑partum emergencies such as hemorrhage and hypertension.
Take hospital OB call for deliveries and round on patients as required; work flexible hours to accommodate hospital needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Participate in call duties and coverage as required by the department.
Ambulatory Office‑Based Care
Perform routine gynecological care, testing, diagnostics, and prescribe treatments within licensed scope.
Provide antepartum maternal care, including routine prenatal visits and patient education.
Prepare birthing individuals and families for labor and delivery and assist during the birthing process.
Assist with fertility, pregnancy, and post‑pregnancy care; counsel on contraceptive and family‑planning options.
Offer complete post‑partum care, including lactation support.
