Coordinator - RN Operating Room

Overview
HonorHealth is Arizona’s largest nonprofit health‑care system, providing a range of acute‑care and specialty services to a population of over five million people in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The Perioperative RN Coordinator supports the delivery of high‑quality surgical and peri‑operative care for patients and staff across our hospitals and clinical sites.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage peri‑operative nursing services, including assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient care requirements across all peri‑operative units.

Act as a primary patient‑care liaison, interfacing with physicians, families, and support staff to ensure seamless communication and delivery of care.

Develop, implement, and maintain individualized patient care plans from admission to discharge, utilizing the Nursing Process and evidence‑based practice.

Provide direct evidence‑based patient care as a registered nurse, demonstrating competency in case management and crisis intervention.

Lead staff development initiatives, including orientation, competency assessment, and in‑service education sessions in partnership with Clinical Educator programs.

Assess and document patient self‑care needs, teaching requirements, and discharge planning, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Facilitate and coordinate resources for surgical procedures, including the availability of equipment, supplies, and personnel.

Assist in capital budgeting and resource planning for assigned service lines, identifying cost‑saving measures and regulatory compliance.

Participate in continuous quality improvement activities, performance evaluation, and staff disciplinary recommendation processes.

Maintain flexible scheduling to meet clinical and educational needs across all shifts, meeting certification and licensure requirements.

Perform additional duties related to orientation and training, ensuring compliance with regulatory and institutional policies.
