The Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) team is responsible for redefining the future of sovereign computing. In this role, you will lead the Kernel and OS strategy for a platform delivering consistent cloud experiences across air-gapped, connected, and hybrid environments. By leveraging confidential computing and GPU infrastructure, you will architect the secure foundations for the next generation of Large Language Models (LLMs). As the Tech Lead, you will design software stacks that protect sensitive data while in use.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $207,000-$300,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

Responsibilities
Lead the organization's Kernel and operating system strategy and roadmap as a primary subject matter expert.
Architect and design the operating system and Kernel software stack for Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) solutions.
Solve ambiguous Kernel and OS problems, from scoping and design to implementation and testing.
Drive technical excellence and serve as the escalation point for OS and Kernel decisions, balancing velocity with sustainability.
Align upstream open-source Linux strategies with GDC roadmaps while authoring detailed technical specifications and design documentation.
