About the Team
The Serverless Container Management team is at the heart of the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) revolution. Our mission is to ensure that 'if it’s in a container, it works well and fast'. We engineer the reliability, performance, and expedient delivery of execution sandboxes and I/O interfaces for Cloud Run, Google Cloud Functions (GCF), and App Engine.
We manage infrastructure that supports millions of applications, handling over 200 million unique container startups per day and 5+ million QPS. Our team innovates on secure sandboxing technologies and container file systems to provide a platform that allows serverless products to run arbitrary user code at massive scale.
Responsibilities
Write high‑performance product or system development code in C++ and Go to advance container‑serving and file system capabilities.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide among available technologies for serverless execution and I/O interfaces.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content for the serverless community and adapt content based on product updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
