Position Summary
The

Administrative Support Coordinator II

plays a central role in supporting the academic and operational success of the department. Working closely with the Department Chair, faculty, and College partners, this position coordinates a wide range of administrative functions, including academic personnel processes, curriculum and scheduling support, budget-related activities, and daily operations. The role serves as a key point of coordination and communication, ensuring processes run smoothly, timelines are met, and policies are applied consistently. Key Responsibilities

Coordinate academic personnel, curriculum, and scheduling processes in collaboration with faculty and College partners.

Support financial and budget-related activities, including tracking expenditures and maintaining documentation.

Manage administrative workflows, timelines, data entry, and communications across multiple stakeholders.

Utilize university systems such as PeopleSoft, Banner, and OnBase to maintain accurate records and processes.

Exercise independent judgment to interpret policies, resolve issues, and handle sensitive or complex situations.

Key Qualifications

Extensive experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Experience with On Base, Banner, and PeopleSoft.

Ability to effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels and handle highly sensitive interpersonal situations.

Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures independently and use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist.

Lead and/or supervisory experience is preferred.

Experience working with diverse student populations in a university setting is preferred.

Experience maintaining budgets is preferred.

Experience in handling confidential matters is preferred.

Experience coordinating administrative support functions for a group is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
San Diego State University offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well‑being and professional growth.

Initial step placement is not expected to exceed Step 1 ($4,367).

Salary step placement for internal applicants will follow the CSUEU Collective Bargaining Agreement.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,367 – $6,362 per month (Step 1 – Step 20).

Future increases, including step advancements, are subject to contract negotiations.
