Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Telemetry
PRN 3rd Shift
Tele 4
Tele 4 is a 10-bed telemetry unit. This unit specializes in general medical surgical and telemetry patients such as but not limited to pneumonia, ESRD, Stroke, CHF and chest pain. Post-operative patients such as GU, Urology, Orthopedics, Bariatrics, Heart Cath/PCI. The population has multiple co‑morbidities and complex care. Patients are admitted/transferred from ICU, ED, and PACU.

Tele 3 is a 22-bed telemetry unit. This unit specializes in general medical surgical and telemetry patients such as but not limited to pneumonia, ESRD, Stroke, CHF and chest pain. Post-operative patients such as GU, Urology, Orthopedics, Bariatrics, Heart Cath/PCI. The population has multiple co‑morbidities and complex care. Patients are admitted/transferred from ICU, ED, and PACU.
State Registered Nurse Assistant
Under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct and indirect patient care. The CNA provides excellence in patient care while respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of everyone. Empathy, compassion, communication, and teamwork are the hallmarks of the PCT‑nurse‑patient relationship.
Responsibilities
Perform direct patient care and related tasks as outlined by scope of practice and including but not limited to:
Assist patients in personal hygiene activities such as bathing, dental and oral care, hair, and nail care.
Assist patients with bowel and bladder functions while maintaining dignity.
Record patient intake and output (I & O).
Collect, label, and transport specimens for laboratory analysis.
Change and transport soiled and contaminated linens according to procedure.
Maintain a clean and tidy patient room/environment.
Assist patients with activity, turning and repositioning as indicated by provider order and in collaboration with the nurse.
Communicate pertinent patient information/findings to patient's nurse.
Set priorities for the care of multiple patients.
Requirements
Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year of a Nursing program and validation of a clinical rotation consistent with level of education.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Basic Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
