What you will do:
Evaluatechildren using appropriate testing protocols, tools, etc. to follow funding guidelines for each particular child
Completeaudit form to be turned in with each evaluation
Createappropriate goals/objectives to be turned in with each evaluation
Schedulechildren onto caseload by contacting the parent/guardian
Providetherapy services to children based on the recommended number of units from evaluations and prescriptions
Providetherapy services in a variety of settings including home, daycare, schools, outpatient clinic, community, etc.
Providedocumentation of all therapy services by locking and electronically signing weekly progress notes
Updateand turnin efficiency reports weekly
Updateschedule on the server
Enterscheduled evaluations on the server
Provideadministration with updated credentials as needed
Ensurethat non-treatment time is reported to and approved by administration per policy. Enters all non-treatment time into deTASO
Completeadditional paperwork requirements in an accurate and timely manner as notified by administration. These requirements include, but are not limited to:
Annual re-evaluations
Six-month progress notes
Discharge Summaries
Early Intervention paperwork (if needed)
Be available to provide occupational therapy services and other related duties (meetings, conferences, etc.) during the days and hours stipulated in the employment agreement
Be available to children and families to ensure continuity of care and proper management of treatment
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
What you have:
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people
Must be able to work with children from birth to age 21 and their families
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Basic computer skills which include a working knowledge of database, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment
Current, unrestricted Occupational Therapist license as approved by the Texas licensing board
Current NBCOT certification
Pediatric Experience (preferred)
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, twist, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to maintain regular and punctual attendance. The employee is required to complete tasks in a timely manner.
